History and Vision

The Association Constellation was born from the encounter between the artist Sylvaine Rémy and very disadvantaged children, during a trip to the Philippines in 1995. Believing that artistic creation is a tool of personal and collective development, Sylvaine Rémy organizes painting sessions in the slums of Tondo in Manila.
The enthusiasm of children, the quality of their work, although most were holding a paintbrush for the first time, Sylvaine encourages her to continue. The association was founded in November 1996. It starts with a painter in Burkina Faso, Tessert Kinda, and in Venezuela with a psychologist, Maritza Montero, University of Caracas.

Since then, many groups have been created with the help of local artists and animators, sometimes in conjunction with local development or child care.

We believe that helping disadvantaged children to enter a real development process, it is not enough to feed them and send them to school. These children also need to build their identity and autonomy, their roots and discover different backgrounds, they especially need to develop and gain confidence in them: the artistic creation can be a tool of personal and collective development . From this perspective of development and sharing that work painters who facilitate workshops Constellation.
