Sol
means PEACE in Dari
(Dari is one of the 2 official languages of Afghanistan).
The Group-e-Sol was created in June 2008. All
children of the group are from
the House of Flowers, an
orphanage where 29 children - boys and girls from 5 to 12- live. Dr Amanullah Nasrat created this orphanage in Kabul several years ago.
The children are from different regions of Afghanistan. All of them
have been - in a way or the other- directly exposed to the wars and
conflicts that have occurred in Afghanistan for many years.
The children go to public school but they also have
classes and artistic activities within the House of Flowers with
Qualsia and Fatima who are their teachers and who also facilitate the
painting workshops. Creating a Constellation group was for the
children a way to open up to the world, to express themselves and to
share with the other children of Constellation through the world.
The group could get started thanks to Rohullah who
is the artist who dedicates his time and his talent to teach and
empower the children. The workshops take place once a week and in
between children work individually. Mortaza and Raheem Ahmad, who are
painters and artists, also help the group.
The name of their group was selected by the
children themselves. There are many reasons why they decided to call
our group the PEACE – this is what they expressed:
After many years of war in our country, the word
Peace represents one of our most precious dreams: “after seeing so
many fights, Peace is our dearest wish”, “We need peace. We need a
peaceful country to live in”, “Life is difficult without peace”, “A
country where there is no peace is not a place where to live; but a
country which is peaceful is a free and confident country for the
future.”, “Peace is a good thing for the children of Afghanistan”.
Peace is also a key condition to our future and
that’s why we wanted it to be our name: “Peace is better than
anything. Peace is the strongest”, “Peace is a gift from God”, “Peace
is like the water in life and it also makes our lives more beautiful”,
“With peace, lives become fresh and relax”, “With peace we can make
our life better for the future”, “Without peace, education cannot
exist: education and peace are like the wheels of a car”, “Only peace
can bring us together. Peace makes us friendly”.
The children of Group-e-Sol introduce themselves:
My name is Maryam. I live in the House of
Flowers. I study in 4th class. I like Afghanistan and Germany. I am 9
and I am part of Group- e-Sol. Peace means love and friendship. We
like peace. When fights started in Afghanistan, we lost peace.
My name is Nazee. I live in Afghanistan. We
want to start peace in Afghanistan because we love our country.
My name is Nazee. I am 9. I am in 2nd class.
I live in House of Flowers We want peace; we love peace.
My name is Razia. I like peace. I am part of
Group- e-Sol. There were many wars in Afghanistan and we don’t like
fights. I want to live in Afghanistan and I also like other countries
such as Canada or Dubai. I like my country because this is our own
country.
My name is Farooq. I am 11. I am one of the
House of Flowers children. I am part of Group- e-Sol. I want to go to
India and I want to have peace in Afghanistan.
My name is Melad. Since fights started in
Afghanistan, we have wanted peace.
My name is Munir; I am in 5th class and I am
living in House of Flowers. I am part of Group- e-Sol; our name means
Peace. This is a very good work.
I am Zaki. I am in 6th class. I live in
House of Flowers. I am part of Group- e-Sol and the name of my group
means peace. Peace means love, friendship and gathering. We named our
group Peace because we want to live together with love.
My name is Hayat, I study in 6th class. I
want to visit Singapore. I really like Singapore. There should be
peace in our country; because we love and we’ve always liked peace.
Humans must always like peace.
My name is Ashraf and I am in 6th class. I
am 12 and I am part of Group- e-Sol. I am one the children of the
House of Flowers. I want to go the USA. I want to be an engineer. If
there is no peace in the world, humanity will be in danger.
My name is Zaiba. I am part of Group- e-Sol.
Our name is Peace. I want to go to Canada because I want to see peace
over there.
My name is Ikram. I live in the House of
Flowers. I am 5. I love peace; we need peace.
I am Hikmat. I am in 5th class. I am one of
the House of Flowers children and I am also part of Group- e-Sol. Our
name is peace. I want to go to China, because I like pandas and I want
to see them for real.
My name is Gul Mohammed. I am in 6th class.
I am one of the House of Flowers children. I am part of Group- e-Sol.
With peace we will have development in the country. I want to see
Singapore and I want to be an engineer.
My name is Waheedullah. I am in 5th class. I
like peace. We started peace when there were fights. We are so happy.
I am in the painting group.

lots of fights in Afghanistan.

My mane is Yasmeen. Since fights started in
Afghanistan we have dreamt of peace.
My name is Ramin. I am in 5th class. I want
to go to India because there are lots of cows there. The name of my
group is Peace. I like peace because our country needs peace. Now, we
want peace in Afghanistan.
My name is Lida. I am in 6th
class. I live in Afghanistan. I am 12. I like peace because peace is
the strongest power in the world. Without peace there is no education
and if there is no education, then there is nothing.
